Janet Box-Steffensmeier Scholarships & John A. Garcia Scholarships

Janet Box-Steffensmeier and John A. Garcia Scholarships are awarded by the Society for Political Methodology to encourage women and underrepresented graduate students in political science to attend the ICPSR Summer Program. The awards are named in honor of Janet Box-Steffensmeier and John A. Garcia, major figures in quantitative social science research and strong supporters of the ICPSR Summer Program. Both the Box-Steffensmeier and Garcia Scholarships provide a fee waiver of our four-week registration fees. The application deadline is April 15, 2015.

Funding for Scholars from Africa

The University of Michigan African Social Research Initiative (ASRI) seeks applications for up to four visiting scholars to attend courses at the 2015 ICPSR Summer Program. The program is open to academic researchers who are enrolled in or have completed PhD programs in the social sciences and who are from, or reside in, one or more of the following countries: Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, South Africa, and Uganda.

The application deadline is March 6, 2015.

2015 ISR-Rackham Summer Training Awards

The U-M's Rackham Graduate School has provided the Institute for Social Research (ISR) with funds to encourage and support U-M graduate students in the social sciences to attend ISR summer programs, including the ICPSR Summer Program.

These competitive grants cover 2/3 of the cost to attend either or both four-week sessions of the ICPSR Summer Program, as long as the student's department agrees to cover the remaining 1/3 cost.

The deadline to submit an application is March 2, 2015. Decisions should be announced by April 9, 2015.
